★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When approaching Niigata Station, it’s difficult to tell that it’s an actual station since the entire building looks rather plain. And there’s not a lot of features that draw the attention of it being a station. A plus is that it’s in the center of Niigata and there are a lot of nearby places that you can check out. The Shinkansen (bullet train) also stops by here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not sure if it's because of renovation but there's no air conditioning here. I came in early August, the heat in the station was suffocating.
The plus side is there's starbucks and cheap restaurants on ground floor.

They have good restaurants , souvenir shops, CVS.
The bullet train starts this place. So, you can ride unreserved seat easily.
I recommend getting Japanese lunch box before you ride.
