★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ここから大和上市まで吉野川(紀の川)と並走する区間が続き美しい景色が車窓を流れます。ただ、駅周辺には観光スポットとなるようなところはなく、地元住民が使うような駅だと思われます。
特急と快速急行(桜の季節のみ運行)を除く列車が停車し、改札はIC対応の簡易改札で、田舎の駅にも関わらずトイレが完備されている駅です。
