★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's very interesting. Everything is so well made. The only problem is that there are many things not translated in English, but you can still understand what it is. It's filled with big and small realistic models to show things about the past. There are many special things to see. You can listen to music from the past century or learn how the houses were build.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The history museum is a good place to understand the heritage of Niigata. All exhibits are in Japanese. There is an English audio guide available but the information is insufficient. We used translator, YouTube and the internet to find the missing information (which was obviously provided in Japanese)... was a good stop over nonetheless.
