★ ★ ★ ★ ★ トイレしかない、3階建てぐらいのシンプルな展望台。これがまた、めっちゃいいねん。日蔭もないし。せっかく新潟に来たのだけど、行くところがなくて、海をみようと思って歩いていたらみつけた展望台。めっちゃラッキーやった。この海岸は、むかし日本一の砂丘があったんですね。みてみたかった。
 A simple observatory with only a toilet and about 3 stories. This is also really good. There is no shade. I came to Niigata with much effort, but I had nowhere to go, so I found an observatory when I was walking to see the sea. I was so lucky. There used to be the best sand dunes in Japan on this coast. I wanted to see it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真冬の日本海が見たくて、吹雪のなか新潟駅から1時間弱歩いて来ました。来た甲斐は‥あまり有りませんでした。海岸はコンクリートで固められて風情が感じられず、ただただ寒いだけでした。
I wanted to see the Sea of Japan in the middle of winter, so I walked for less than an hour from Niigata station in the snowstorm. It wasn't worth it to come. The beach was hardened with concrete and I couldn't feel the atmosphere, it was just cold.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rather small but interesting to see. The walking side near the sea is worth it. But be ready, there are no cafes, restaurants nor vending machines nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a nice area with lots of fishing piers. You can get some fresh sea smell here. Despite the blue sea, this area is a testament for the concrete industry that transformed most coastal cities in Japan into a man made jungle. The ecosystem is dying because of these structures reaching into the ocean.
