ただ多くの志士が亡くなった場所を保存するかと言われれば仕方ないかと思いますが?
まさか居酒屋になっている事には少し残念
な気持ちです?
 It is a historic place as an incident that triggered the spread of the Shinsengumi, but as a history lover, I want to preserve the building ?
I think it can't be helped if many scholars are asked to save the place where they died ?
It's a little disappointing that it's an izakaya

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The worst dining experience in Japan, all waiters in the restaurant on duty didn’t understand or speak English. I ordered beef hot pot but the waitress brought up a pot full of fatty belly. When I made the order, she said it was beef with hormone!

For the Shinsengumi fans like myself we call this place Ikedaya Inn where the famous fight took place. The original building is nonexistent but the stone memorial in front of the current restaurant says this is the place known as Ikedaya. The upstairs window has a Shinsengumi display, homage to what went down here back in 1864.
