はらたいら氏も通われたという名店。 場所は伊豆ですから、城ヶ崎の断崖に飛び込む勢いで入店。 頼みましたのは、お店おすすめの「かくれうなぎ」。 手桶に似た器に、タレの染み込んだご飯。その上には2枚の蒲焼ですよ。 ちょいとうなぎを箸で切っては飯を食う。 1度くらいは、ガブッと1枚いきたいところですが……なんと!飯の下から、うなぎが顔を出してるじゃありませんか!! これはいくしかないですな。 香ばしくパリッと焼き上げられた表面に、フワッフワな内側。 1枚の蒲焼にかぶりつくなんてシチュエーションだけで幸せなのに、食感も味も良しとなったら、ここは極楽浄土なのですか? さてさて、ご飯の中から顔を出したうなぎですが、そのまま食べてもよし、お茶をかけてひつまぶし風にして食べても、また良し。 こりゃ、また来ちゃいそうなお店でしたわ。

The fragrant and crispy surface has a fluffy inside. I'm happy just in the situation that I'm stuck on one piece of kabayaki, but if the texture and taste are good, is this a paradise pure land? By the way, the eel that came out of the rice can be eaten as it is, or it can be eaten with tea in a hitsumabushi style. This was a shop that was likely to come again.

ここのウナギの肝は見たことがないくらいハリがあり大きく臭みと苦味がない!どうしたらこんな肝になるのか。鰻も焼き具合が絶妙。タレもご飯の硬さも良い。一度は食べてもらいたい。

この時期、テイクアウトのみの営業だったため、20分ほど待って『かくれ鰻』の持ち帰りをした。熱々を食べたかったので、車を海辺に止めて、そこで頂いた。味も量も大満足!タレは甘すぎず辛すぎず、外側パリっ、中はふわふわの鰻が、ご飯の上にも中にも。大食いの私がお腹いっぱい。贅沢を言えば、お新香の一つも添えられてたら更に良かったな…。『隠れ鰻』って名前はあの、はらたいらさん命名だそうです。

Unagi specialist restaurant. While prices aren't cheap (1500-4000 yen)worth every yen as eel was superb. Fresh eel was grilled well. Regular unagi will have a distinct (eel-y?) smell. Here the eel was cooked without that unpleasant smell. Very flavorful. Next, eel was marinated well in a sauce with very harmonious flavors. Good smoky flavor as it was grilled over good charcoal. Served with good rice and accompaniements. Overall scores high on my list.

The place was a peace. I loved the hidden-eel-bowl, where there were 2 layers of sweet soy sauce flavoured eel. Order was smooth, as they have an order system using iPad. Only Japanese though. I'd liked a little more fatty taste, but it was all good. Liver skew and soup were enjoyable as well. Wish I didn't have to drive so I can enjoy them with some sake...

Worth the drive. They were flexible and let us change our reservation en route. Delicious food and friendly atmosphere. Mom and pop shop. Totally authentic. Loved it. Hope to return soon. Thank you ???
