★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This gem is located centrally in Kinosaki Onsen and right across the creek from Kawaguchiya Honkan (a ryokan I'd recommend for trying out all 7 Onsen).
It had been raining all day and we were looking for something warm. The Sweet shrimp soba (served hot) was fresh and the amaebi were succulent and sweet. Our second dish was tempura udon where all the ingredients were fried on the spot. The broth is one of the best I've had in Japan.
The owners are extremely nice. I actually had a shrimp shell stuck in my throat and the owner offered me rice to help with the problem (ha). The store can be easy to miss at night.
Couldn't recommend this place more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Haven't had soba since we arrived in Japan, and this place didn't disappoint. Staff (elderly lady) was friendly, and provided an English menu when we asked for one.
Tempura soba was good. The noodles had a nice texture and the broth was rich. Surprised that it isn't too crowded on a weekend too! Great place to warm up after an onsen in the winter!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent soba and udon all made in house in this delightful family run restaurant. We had the crab rice porridge udon and the sweet prawn soba which were both delicious. There is an English menu which also features the Japanese name of the item so you are able to calculate the price off the Japanese menu.
