I would recommend it. The Geisha danced for you on stage. You had a meal there as well. Afterwards we spoke to the Geisha and had our photo taken with her.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was super excited to see a maiko and her dance. Booked tickets online in advance. Tickets were pricy but I didn’t mind since this was one of the items (seen a Maiko) on my bucket list.
It’s a small room. Very neat and tidy. Warmly welcomed by the organiser. There were only 15 people including us so not crowded.
Tea ceremony by Maiko and her dance afterwards was mesmerising. Maiko was so glamorous..Got to talk with the Maiko through the translator.
All went according to the plan and well organised.
However I found the whole thing is a bit commercialised.(to be expected.. still)
The room interior and set up is too contemporary doesn’t suit the concept of Maiko and Japanese tea ceremony.
Next day while walking through back streets of Gion we saw Maiko and Geishas coming out of Ochayas and rushing through narrow back streets . I found those encounters are more authentic.
But seen real Maikos and Geishas in Gion are so rare and that’s why we book this session so we could see a one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really a one of a kind experience. It's something you have to do at least once in Kyoto. The neighborhood of the theater is very nondiscript as with the venue itself. The show is very good and quite enjoyable even if you know little about the Geiko or Maiko culture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found it a bit expensive for a performance of 3 songs and a tea ceremony (without any explanations). We've payed around 55 euros by person for an afternoon performance. And we were around 20-25 persons in the theater. I would prefer to have more information about the tea ceremony before and during the performance. But it was nice to see Maiko in her beautiful kimono dancing for us.
