★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 右手は京都三条大橋から、ここ倉賀野宿，新町宿，本庄宿...江戸日本橋まで続く中山道。
左手は、ここを起点として日光まで続く日光例幣使街道。
二つの街道の分岐点、つまり『追分』です。
新町宿が出来たのが慶安4年（1651年）〜承応2年（1653年）辺り。
それに伴い中山道のルートが本庄宿から神流川越えの新町宿ルートに変わったそうです。
日光例幣使の派遣は天保3年（1646年）から始まり、以降明治維新前年の慶応3年（1867年）までの221年間、一度も休むことなく奉幣行事は続けられたそうです。
 On the right is the Nakasendo that runs from Kyoto Sanjo Ohashi to Kuragano-shuku, Shinmachi-shuku, Honjo-shuku ... Edo Nihonbashi.
On the left is the Nikko Reiheishi Highway, which starts here and continues to Nikko.
It is the junction of the two highways, that is, "Oiwake".
Shinmachi-shuku was built around the 4th year of Keian (1651) to the 2nd year of Jōō (1653).
Along with that, the route of Nakasendo changed from Honjo-shuku to Shinmachi-shuku route over the Kanna River.
The dispatch of Nikko-Reiheishi began in 1646, and after that, the memorial service was continued for 221 years until the 3rd year of Keio (1867), the year before the Meiji Restoration.
