Of these, Shusuitei is a tea room built as a villa in the late Edo period about 200 years ago, and is said to be a playful architecture. It is still used for tea parties, etc., and is open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (excluding the year-end and New Year holidays). The pond that spreads out in front of Shusuitei is called Kujo Pond, and it is said that the view from Shusuitei was created first around 1778, with Higashiyama as the backdrop.
