The Koshoji Temple Meditation Hall is founded on the buddhaâs teachings of compassion. We are aware that those of you seeking refugee status face many struggles, including securing housing and food. We would like to help. You are welcome to come and stay at Koshoji Temple while your refugee application is being processed. We hope that living at our temple will help prepare you for life in Japan by providing an opportunity to learn about Japanese culture, language, and Buddhism. While living at the temple, you will not have to worry about housing or food. However, you will be expected to do daily temple chores and follow the schedule of the monks in training. The approach is less than 200m long. Starting from the Ryumon (stone gate) at the entrance to the Uji River, you can see a small white-walled mountain gate straight ahead after a slight climb. ● It is said that Kosho-ji Temple was the first temple in Japan to be opened as a training dojo aimed at the education and upbringing of monks. Mountain number: Buttokuzan Kaisan: Dogen Zenji Kaisan: Naomasa Nagai, the owner of Yodo Castle The slope is gentle, but it was difficult just to make a round trip. In midsummer, the approach is a little easier due to the trees and Shimizu. Shimizu in the valley goes down the side of the approach, and it seems that the sound was named like the tone of a koto.
