★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 宇治川の岩盤が一部露呈しており、その様が亀の甲羅のようにも見えることから亀石と呼ばれているようだがスケールが小さく、また歩道と川との高低差もあることからうっかり見過ごしてしまう。
見た目にも亀石って亀、かめ？と首をかしげたくなるような…自分的には日本がっかり観光地の１つという事で。
A part of the bedrock of the Uji River is exposed, and it seems that it is called Kameishi because it looks like a turtle shell, but the scale is small and there is a height difference between the sidewalk and the river, so I overlooked it carelessly. It ends up.

発見すると あ、亀！?と思えました。
甲羅から手が出て少し頭を上げている感じです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 平等院も良いが？時間が許すなら散歩がてら宇治川沿いのたんさく散歩いいですよ！平等院から塔の島へ、朝霧橋を渡り宇治川に沿って天ヶ瀬ダム方面へ、夏場での片道約2㎞の天ヶ瀬つり橋までの散歩道は、緑の屋根に囲まれてとても涼しく感じます。
来た道を戻り、時間に余裕があれば約30分の道のりで、大吉山展望台まで歩いて登れば宇治市内の絶景が見られます。
また紅葉シーズンなら、早朝や平日などの人気が少ないタイミングで、宇治 興聖寺を参拝されとここしかないというベストな穴場ポイントで紅葉が楽しめます。
Byodo-in is also good? If time permits, you can take a walk along the Uji River. From Byodo-in Temple to Tonoshima, cross the Asagiri Bridge and follow the Uji River toward Amagase Dam, and the walking path to Amagase Suspension Bridge, which is about 2 km one way in the summer, feels very cool surrounded by a green roof.
If you have time to spare, you can walk up to the Daikichiyama Observatory for a spectacular view of Uji City.
Also, during the autumn leaves season, you can enjoy the autumn leaves at the best hidden point that you can only visit Uji Kosho-ji Temple at a less popular timing such as early morning or weekdays.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 確かに亀の形をしていました。ちょうど水かさが、亀が歩いているような位置でしたのでびっくり。
もちろん見学料は無料です。何回かここを歩いていますが、初めて気づきました。
