創立は不詳であるが、『置賜文化』第四十五号によると嘉永元年に焼失した後、同年に現在の堂が建立された。国道工事が始まると、堂が現在の場所に移設されたそう。
庚申堂は、国道13号線沿いに茂みに隠れて鎮座している。付近に駐車場もない上に歩道もほぼ無いようなものなので、アクセスが厳しいのですが、境内には多くの石造物が建ち並び、厳かな雰囲気を受ける。庚申堂の名のとおり、かつては庚申講が行われた場であったため、5基の庚申塔が建っているほか、3基の馬頭観音の石塔も建つ。一角には石塔の破片が集積されていたので、以前はさらにあったのだろう。

The founding is unknown, but according to Okitama Culture No. 45, the current temple was erected in the same year after it was burnt down in the first year of Kaei. When the national highway construction started, the temple was relocated to its current location.
Koshindo is enshrined in a bush along Route 13. There is no parking lot nearby and there are almost no sidewalks, so access is difficult, but many stone structures are lined up in the precincts, giving a solemn atmosphere. As the name of Koshindo suggests, it used to be the place where Koshindo was held, so in addition to five Koshinto towers, three horse-headed Kannon stone towers are also built. Fragments of stone towers were piled up in one corner, so there may have been more before.
