Haguro Shrine - Yonezawa

Haguro Shrine is designated as a national historic site as a place where the lord himself welcomed Hosoi Hiraju, who was taught by Uesugi Takayama, to the suburbs. There are many episodes of Takayama and Pingzhou in the nearby Fumon-in Temple, which are also designated as historic sites, so you can see that Haguro Shrine and Fumon-in were one in the Edo period. Although it is a countryside at the foot of the mountain, the Yamagata Shinkansen track crosses right in front of you, and the Shinkansen passes through at a tremendous speed. Itaya Pass, which Hosoi Hyoshu used to struggle to cross, is now in a blink of an eye.
