★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 「ぬめり」とは、色恋に身を焦がすこと。主に女性の状態を表現する語。“湿地だから”などという無粋な解説が付されているけれど、江戸時代からそんな意味だったのかなぁ…。疑問。地域の昔話の類は、昭和期にかなりマジメな側に書き換えられたからね。粋で艶っぽいホントの昔話を知ってる方、いないかな。民俗学的観点から、この坂の名には関心が湧く。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昔は多摩川は東急多摩川線のあたりを流れていたらしく、このあたりは低湿地で大雨が降ればすぐに坂がぬめったのでしょう。ぬめり坂という名は、そこからつけられたと思われます。たいした坂でもないので登れなくなったみたいです。そのために庚申塔が造られたとおもいます。近くにおしゃもじ様という道標があります。
