ヨ	ヨッパのホッシー on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 身障者対応の多目的トイレ、エレベーターもありバリアフリー化がなされている。駅周辺はもっぱら観光地となっている。歴史的には、京阪線の終着駅として「五條」駅の名称で開業。その後、京阪線は三条駅まで延伸したため、途中駅となり「五条」駅と表記変更された。昭和の終わりに地下化工事がなされ地下駅としてオープンした。廃線となった地上線は、道路として整備され「川端通」として開通している。平成20年に現在の駅名となる「清水五条」駅に改称された。 There are also multipurpose toilets and elevators for the disabled, making them barrier-free. The area around the station is mainly a tourist destination. Historically, it opened under the name of Gojo Station as the last station on the Keihan Line. After that, the Keihan line was extended to Sanjo station, so it was changed to "Gojo" station. Underground construction was completed at the end of Showa and opened as an underground station. The abandoned ground line has been developed as a road and opened as "Kawabata Dori." In 2008, it was renamed to "Shimizu Gojo" station, which is the current station name.

The nearest station to [Otani Honboku (Shinran's graveyard)]. It was once operated as [Gojo Station], but it was changed to [2008] → "Current name changed" \ (^ ω ^) / !! な	なかぴょん on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This station is not near to Kiyomizu-dera temple by walk. You can walk to it, if you are healthy and tough. I recommend bus or taxi.
i	iconmaniac (Iconmaniac) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take note to walk from here to Kiyomizu-dera Temple is about 30 mins slow walk, but manageable unless you're unfit. I saw some with kimonos early morning coming out of the station to Kiyomizu-dera then back to station in evening (seems to have a hard time). I suggest that you can easily get kimonos rental just below Kiyomizu-dera Temple shopping area, spent whole day there and then Gion taking photos before returning them. I checked the prices were similar to most places.
