S	S L on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even if the Kyoto station is made of concrete and steal, its design is very amazing and fantastic. When taking the escalator to the top roof or the first floor, you can view the delicate structure and people come and go from different angles and heights. This is the most interesting characteristic in this station. Its function not only includes the transportation but also includes the beauty and visual effect of modern design. There are many shops and restaurants there, but you definitely have to spend some time on observing the structure and different space of the station before you taking on the train or going back to the hotel. Kyoto is a beautiful city. Even though some natives are not kind(?), you can still enjoy ancient culture, temple, scenery, street, river in this elegant city. The existence of Kyoto station is just like a bright and impressive gate which welcomes every passenger visiting this ancient city first time in their lives.
A	Anemone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I will write it on English. I've been here for several times, the first time is when transit from Shinkassen to my place now. A big train station with mall inside it. Outside, you can take photo of Kyoto tower, or what the name is.

Be sure to go all the way to the top, there’s a lot to see there as well, with a gorgeous view of the Kyoto tower and surrounding mountains.

There are many stores inside and I bought myself a customized Hanko stamp while I was here if your interested in that. Language barrier here is not a problem, because since this is a tourist hub, many people here will speak English or will be patient with you if communication in Japanese is difficult. Its not a place to visit, because you'll end up here no matter what, but there is a lot to do here and shopping is fun as well. There is a good food, but as always, it is better to find hidden gem restaurants in the city rather than standard foods at the station, just think mall food...

From Tokyo we move using bus around 10 p.m. Arrived on this Kyoto Station around 6 -7 a.m. don't worry there's nice and clean toilet to used.
