★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 河川・加古川（少し上流）にある太閤渡しと同じく、この付近も船による人々の移動・荷物の運搬を行っていたようで、「高瀬舟」が活躍したそうです。昭和40年・堤防の完成に伴い、船での往来が不可になり廃止になったようです。駐車スペースがないため、サイクリングやハイキングで通りかかった際は寄っておきたい場所です。名称の嘉市（かし）は当時の渡し船の船頭さんの名から来ています。
