★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We happened to walk down the street and notice the “vegetarian menu available” sign, so we looked hesitantly and a nice lady ushered us in. So my girlfriend got the vegetarian set menu for 1100 ten and I got the tonkastu set for 1300.
Both were excellent. The host was very accommodating considering we knew little Japanese and were the only customers the whole time - 3:00pm on a Sunday. Our vegetarian was happy so I am too. Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found this place after visit of Kinkakuji. The place had family atmosphere. The lady was very kind and friendly, she offered us some tea and english menus. I must admit that we had very pleasant experience with the food. Yudofu was great (probably best tofu I've ever had) and tempura with matcha salt was awesome! I would very much recommend this to anyone passing by!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pure chance that we wandered in here after visiting Kinkaku-ji to avoid the down pour of rain. We both had a delightful tofu hot pot that warmed us up on a rainy day. Lovely little place to go for some homely food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was cycling on the way towards Kinkakuji Temple. Decided to have a lunch at this lovely and cosy restaurant. Two of us were their first customers of the day. Old lady was very nice, as we don't understand the language. Ordered a Tofu set from the picture in the menu, inclusive of tempura vegetables. Display was very lovely, tempura was nice, Tofu was simple but yet excellent. Thumbs up for this restaurant. Will definitely visit, when we have the opportunity again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Could not say better things about Kinu and the sweet owners. The food was so delicious and carefully and thoughtfully put together that we came back a second time for dinner two days later- she recognized us and was so happy and thankful. Our family jokingly said that we wanted to eat at "Grandma's" for dinner, because she seemed so grandmotherly and sweet. About a 5 minute walk from Kinkaku-ji, it is definitely a place to stop by to have a nice meal after a visit to the temple. They have an English menu with pictures, which is super helpful. Iced cold tea is complimentary and so good that we finished a few bottles!
We had their different sets of bento boxes, which were so delicious (and also very cute)! I read that they also serve delicious hot tofu soup sets, but since it was 100F degrees out, we opted for a cooler lunch/dinner.

Soft beef lunch set- steak cooked perfectly and was so tender
We told her that we would tell our friends to eat at her restaurant (through google translate app) and she was so ecstatic. Sweet sweet owners! Visit Kinu if you have the chance!
