笠置城は鎌倉幕府打倒を企てた元弘の変で後醍醐天皇が笠置寺に入って幕府軍と戦った場所です。
標高288mの笠置山に築かれましたが、元々が1300年の歴史ある笠置寺でした。
現在は山頂に行在所(あんざいしょ)遺址ありここが本丸とされます。
その北側には二の丸と呼ばれる場所があり眺望が開けていますが、これといった城郭遺構は消滅しています。
昭和7年(1932年)「笠置山」として国の史跡名勝として指定されました。
【歴史】
笠置山の戦いは鎌倉時代後期の元弘元年(1331年)に鎌倉幕府打倒を企てる後醍醐天皇側と、鎌倉幕府側との間で行われた戦いである。
【アクセス】
山頂近くまで車で行けます。
有料駐車場500円があり笠置寺は参拝料300円が必要です。

 Kasagi Castle Ruins (National Historic Site Kasagiyama)
Kasagi Castle is the place where Emperor Go-Daigo entered Kasagi-dera and fought against the Shogunate army due to the strangeness of Motohiro who attempted to overthrow the Kamakura Shogunate.
It was built on Mt. Kasagi at an altitude of 288m, but it was originally a 1300-year-old Kasagi-dera temple.
Currently, there is an archaeological site at the top of the mountain, which is called the main enclosure.
There is a place called Ninomaru on the north side, and the view is open, but the remains of the castle have disappeared.
In 1932, it was designated as a national historic site scenic spot as "Mt. Kasagi".

The Battle of Kasagiyama was a battle between the Emperor Go-Daigo and the Kamakura Shogunate, who attempted to overthrow the Kamakura Shogunate in the first year of Genko (1331) in the latter half of the Kamakura period.
【access】
You can drive to near the top of the mountain.
There is a pay parking lot of 500 yen, and a worship fee of 300 yen is required for Kasagi-dera.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 『太平記』では欠く事の出来ない重要な城なのですが、『笠置山の戦い』において、後醍醐天皇勢が善戦と言うものの、幕府軍もそれ程本気も出さずダラダラ戦ってた感があり、陥落までの経緯もあって何が何でも行こうとは思わず、未だに行く気が起こりません。
一度は訪れて置きたいですがね。
It is an important castle that is indispensable in "Taheiki", but in "Battle of Mt. Kasagi", although the Emperor Go-Daigo said that it was a good fight, there is a feeling that the Shogunate army did not take it seriously and fought lazily. Because of the circumstances leading up to the fall, I didn't want to go anything, and I still don't feel like going.
