村松藩主力の同盟軍と新政府軍が赤坂峠にて交戦。藩論が纏まらなかった村松藩内から新政府軍に味方する者が現れ、同士討ちの様相を呈し戦闘は凄惨を極めたとされる。
古戦場には石碑と解説、墓石が一基。石碑の背後が実際の戦場跡とされる。
駐車場無し。空地に駐車。

The Muramatsu feudal clan's main alliance army and the new government army engage in a battle at Akasaka Pass. It is said that a person who was on the side of the new government army appeared from the Muramatsu clan, where the clan theory was not settled, and the battle was extremely terrible, showing the appearance of amicable fire.
There is a stone monument, commentary, and a tombstone on the old battlefield. Behind the stone monument is the actual battlefield.
