★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a small family restaurant with great service. There is 1 chef and 1 waitress, who were both very friendly and provided great service. I stopped here for dinner with my family while in Karuizawa for a ski trip. We got 3 types of set dinners (beef katsu, Hawaii pork, and cheese hamburg). The set came with rice, soup and salad. It was all very delicious and a great deal (less than ¥2000 per person for the full set).

The food is great and cheap (try the hayashi), the owner is super nice and will talk with you woth a bit of English.
Very warm atmosphere and you fill very welcomed

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a lovely family dinner at Usagi no Mori. It’s a cute old Japanese restaurant filled with many different types of bunny objects/decorations. It feels like stepping back in the past!The owners were super friendly and gave us good suggestions. We ordered à Katsu curry, a pasta napolitana and a beef stew; everything was very nicely done and it was really big portions for Japan! The beef was super tender, really enjoyed. The restaurant is very welcoming to families and the owner gave us origami paper while waiting for the dishes to be ready. They don’t have high chairs for the kids but have built in benches around some tables which are handy for younger kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and cosy restaurant. Their food is awesome with a reasonable price. You get also a big portion of salad and a tasty soup. And more over they are very nice and welcoming and if you can speak a little Japanese you can have a nice chat with them ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy family restaurant in Shinkaruizawa. Steak sauce was so tasty so as salad dressing.I liked pork miso soup too. Highly recommended. Only cash.
