この石に神さまをお祀りしたと言う逸話があるそうです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 神谷神社本殿より谷を100メートルほど上がると有る巨石群です。説明板には「影向石 磐境 神谷川にある渕より自然居士と云う徳の高い人が現れ傍らの大石に天地の神様をお祀りしたと云う岩で神谷神社の大元とも云われて今に神聖な岩として尊敬されている。」
磐境とは神道考古学の大場磐雄氏によると神祭りの境域、岩や石を並べて祭祀の境界を作り、その内部を祭祀空間とするのです。
さしずめ磐境の中に神籬を立てたというが「日本書記」天孫降臨条の祭祀の風景です。これから言うとこの岩は少し違う。
影向石(ようごういし)とは遠くの神を遥拝したり来臨する神を拝んだりする場所にある石、またはその石にまつわる伝説、拝み石と有ります。こちらがこの神谷神社の岩はふさわしいと思います。
説明板の磐境は間違ってますね。

It is now revered as a sacred rock. "
According to Mr. Iwao Oba of Shinto archeology, Iwao is the boundary of the Shinto festival, where rocks and stones are lined up to create the boundary of the ritual, and the inside is used as the ritual space.
It is said that the Himorogi was erected in the Sasuzume Bankai, which is the scenery of the ritual of the "Japanese clerk" Tenson Korin. From now on, this rock is a little different.
There is a stone in the place where you worship a distant god or a god who comes, or a legend related to that stone, a worship stone. I think this is the rock of this Kamiya Shrine.
