★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 永禄8年(1566年)三好三人衆と斎藤義興らが足利義昭を急襲。明智光秀や細川藤孝らが義昭に加勢し、撃退に成功した。より堅固な城をと織田信長により二条城が作られるきっかけとなった。
Eiroku 8 (1566) Miyoshi Sanjin and Yoshiaki Saito attacked Yoshiaki Ashikaga. Akechi Mitsuhide and Hosokawa Fujitaka joined Yoshiaki and succeeded in repelling them. It was the catalyst for the construction of Nijo Castle by Nobunaga Oda to create a stronger castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 本圀寺跡石碑と案内板のみの様に思ったが周辺に塔頭寺院が16ケ院残っています。本圀寺があったことを想像する手掛かりになる。探して見るのも面白いですよ!因みに16ヶ院発見出来ました。
I thought that it was only the remains of the main temple and the information board, but there are 16 temples around the temple. It is a clue to imagine the existence of Honjoji Temple. It's fun to search and see! By the way, I found 16 hospitals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ きっと昔は大きなお寺。戦後色々あって山科ヘ移転したとか。昔々日蓮上人が比叡山で修行した時に都はどんな景色だっただろう?「水戸黄門」のドラマに出番は来たのか?「朝鮮通信使」の見た都の空は晴れていたのか?。幕末の新選組の稽古の大筒は以外と「サービス」で本圀寺ヘ向けられてはいなかったか?（笑）色々想像していたら楽しい。関係者の皆様スミマセン。
I'm sure it was a big temple in the past. There were various things after the war, and they moved to Yamashina. What kind of scenery would the city look like when Nichiren Jonin trained on Mt. Hiei once? Did the drama of "Mito Komon" come into play? Was the sky of the city seen by the "Korean messenger" clear? Wasn't the Oshin Tsutsugu of the Shinsengumi at the end of the Edo period directed to the main temple in "service"? (laughs) It's fun to imagine. Everyone involved.
