サ	サント船長 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 長岡京（ながおかきょう）は、山城国乙訓郡（現在の京都府向日市、長岡京市、京都市西京区）にあった古代日本の都城。宮域跡は向日市鶏冠井町（かいでちょう）に位置し、「長岡宮跡」として国の史跡に指定されている。延暦3年（784年）11月11日に平城京から遷都され、延暦13年（794年）10月22日に平安京に遷都されるまで機能した。 Nagaokakyo is an ancient Japanese capital city located in Oguni-gun, Yamashiro (currently Mukaichi, Nagaokakyo, and Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto). 森	森昭二 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 長岡京の中心である大極殿の跡です。跡地は公園として整備されています。公園には建物のあった場所を示すものや説明板があります。しかし私の気を惹いたものは大きな石塔の前に置かれていた「長岡宮の礎石」です。説明によると、これは開発に伴う長岡京の発掘調査がまだ十分に行われていなかった時代に、研究者の小林清さんが自ら建設現場に足を運んで採取したものだそうです。こういう人の地道な努力があったからこそ、かつて「幻の都」といわれた長岡京の全貌も徐々に明らかになってきたのだと思います。そうして見るとこれらも単に長岡宮の礎石というだけでなく、より感慨深いものを感じます。近年翔鸞楼の跡が発見されたそうですが、また新たな発見があるとよいですね。 It is the site of Taikyokuden, the center of Nagaokakyo. C	Camry 2104 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 長岡京の主要部分である長岡宮跡は向日市に所在します。名前を長岡京市に取られて（？）いるのにもめげず、向日市は頑張っています。住宅街の中に、断片的ではありますが少しずつ遺跡公園を整備し、少しばかりの想像力を働かせれば何とか往時を目に浮かべることが可能となっています。もちろん、しっかりとリアルに再現しつつある平城京とは比較になりませんが、街中にほぼ埋没してしまっている平安京よりはましな状況です。阪急西向日駅の東西に数カ所の遺跡公園があります。いずれも徒歩５分以内ですので、できれば全て訪ねてみてください。 Nagaoka Palace, the main part of Nagaokakyo, is located in Mukaichi.
