★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food and sake. Sake is by the glass and they overfill so it has a neat appearance. Everyone gets the potato croquette, which has a soft boiled egg in it. I can definitely see why everyone gets it - it's really flavorful! They have very interesting dishes such as bacon-wrapped lotus root, and shark fin. If you're around Roppongi you should go here. There's no sign out front (I added a photo of what the front looks like). No shoes in here - you leave them at the entrance and they actually remember which shoes are yours and bring them back out when you pay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favourite restaurants in Tokyo! Great, attentive service and incredible food. They specialize in grilled skewers but the other dishes are done very well, too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went on a Saturday night as I met up with some local friends. I felt like I was going to an "exclusive" joint as there were no signs and I ended up walking by it not even noticing my friends were already inside taking off their shoes. Reserve in advance as it gets busy and prepare for a nice treat as they hand write your reservation sign with your name - small things impress me :)
As I'm very accustomed to Izakaya's in Vancouver, I feel Joumon would be very popular and a go to spot. For non-smokers like myself, you might not be fond of the smell, however the atmosphere and quality of food will definitely compensate. If you are adventurous, try their horse sashimi and chicken gizzard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Following a great nabe dinner at the Shibuya location, we decided to give this one a shot. They do their best to accommodate foreigners, such as the table next to us who had no idea what they were ordering until they figured out we could translate for them. Solid yakimono options, and great chikuwa sours. The konbu avocado will stay with me for a long time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is great and the price is reasonable for yakitori. I got the chef selection of yakitori and it did not disappoint. A mixture of 2 beef, 2 chicken, 2 pork and 2 vegetables (but one is wrapped in bacon if that still counts as a veggie). Flavour was good with a nice bit of smokey flavour.
Decor is nice and it doesn't have too much of an overwhelming smokey smell, but the seats were very uncomfortable.
Overall great experience and will go back again.

You sit very close to other customers (almost at the same table). The food service is way too slow.
Booking in advance is preferred.
There's no big board which says "Jomon" so trust the google maps, you are at the right place. :p
Not cheap, expect at least 3500+ for a couple of drinks and food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of this place. It's a little bit cramped, but the way the restaurant is laid out makes it all work. If you're coming here, make sure you're coming with only a few people, because you're most likely not going to be able to get a group in. The food was great, and would definitely recommend it for a solid experience.
