★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been going here for more than 20 years. Great value, friendly, good quality. Never been disappointed. The reviewer on here who mentions 'stuffed animals and a creepy atmosphere' has got the wrong place - it isn't Daigin Shokudo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As I entered Daigin Shokudo, I could hardly sustain the feeling of creepiness from forcing my feet out the door, as it was late in the afternoon and no other place in the viscinity was open. I was hungry and had little options. I could have sworn that the stuffed animals from all over the bar and seating areas were looking directly at me, wherever I went.
I was served by a sweet old lady, which was a bit hard at hearing and completed the restaurant's vibe of trapped lost souls. She did serve the food fairly quickly and without a hassle. As to the quality of it however nothing extraordinary, the rice was bland and the curry felt like it came from a pre-made can. The chicken was barely acceptable, and the miso soup was not to my liking.
Avoid if you can. Unless you want to experience the inside of a serial killer's house.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two years ago we visited the Ginkaku-ji temple and strolled around the town and discovered this warm family restaurant. Giving a home cooked food feeling, food was delicious and impressive, very reasonable with happy memories.
