多いのですが、羽黒山で一番の
巨木だそうです。
天然記念物にも指定されているので

全長1.7km、2446段の石段が続き、
その両側に樹齢350～500年の杉並木が続く
緑豊かでしっとり
小川のせせらぎが聞こえ気持ちがいい。
雨が降った後で葉がしっとりとしていた。
参道全体が「国指定特別天然記念物」
随神門 から10分程歩いたところに爺杉が立ち。
その脇に五重塔が見える。
特別天然記念物・重要文化財・国宝と
国がとても大切にしている地域ということがわかる。
いつまでも残していきたい場所です。
