★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 「石清水八幡宮」はきっとこれまでに多くの往来人の喉を潤し、霊験新たな有難い神社だったのです。
古来からの交通要衝、古海山ヶ鼻を過ぎて本高集落入口付近に鎮座です。
ここで旅人は一息入れます。
旅人は自分がこれから真っ直ぐ東郷谷に向かうか、右に折れて立見峠を越えて吉岡、更に鹿野に向かうのかによって時間と経路を計算するのです。
「石清水八幡宮」鳥居前に立つと境内左側から清水の滴り落ちる音が聞こえます。思わず杓子で清水を汲んで飲み干しました。
古来からの旅人と同じように一息を入れて反対側の鳥取城下に向かう人もいたでしょう。
「石清水八幡宮」は随分と賑わう神社だったに違いありません。
