田	田中正典 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 「桂尾神社」は東桂見の外れに鎮座します。ずうっと昔から桂尾大明神として崇敬を集めています。神社入口掲示板の説明とおり、拝殿へ繋がる石段の上リ口左側の平らな地面に丸い不揃いな(力石)が5個並べ置かれています。青年が自身を一人前の大人と自覚し、村の青年講に加入する証として、皆の前で(力石)を担ぎ上げれば大人の扱いを受けました。 (力石)が置かれた所の一段低くなった境内は平らで広くなっており、向こうの端には長小屋が建っています。この広い境内できっと村の若者たちが大人になった証を示そうと(力石)を持ち上げ担ぎ上げたりした事でしょう。土俵を書いて相撲を取り、土俵の回りにも村人が集まり声援を送っている風景が目に浮かんできました。「桂尾神社」は若者たちとその様子を暖かく見守る村人との息吹が感じられました。(力石)は大正時代まで使われていたそうです。 "Katsuo Shrine" sits outside Higashi Katsurami.
