★ ★ ★ ★ ★ これがドラマ「仁」に出てくる伊東玄朴が私財をなげうって建てたとされる種痘所の記念碑らしい。「仁」では、松本良順に追いやられて、ほぼほぼ隠居状態だったと記憶している。
お玉が池とは、当時この辺にあった不忍池ほどの大きさの池のこと。ただ、種痘所建設時には既に埋め立てられていたようだ。
