御祭神は倉稲魂命。正徳4（1714）年創建。境内は御神木の銀杏の落ち葉に覆われて真っ黄っ黄。そして赤い社殿が金色の地面に映える美しき御神域でありました。後から茨城県神社誌を読んだところ，「境内社の津賀神社は，天正14年府中大掾氏と共に敗戦し討死にした津賀常春公の首塚を空桶新田に祀り，後に当社境内に移した」ものだそうです。おそらく拝殿右側の祠がそうかと思いますが，数ヶ月前，三村常春公の足跡を辿って石岡市三村の「三村城跡」「常春寺」「三村城主・平常春公戦没之地」と辿ったばかり。小田氏に攻められ三村城が落城・常春公が25歳にして自死したのが天正2（1574）年のはずなので年（と姓）が少々違いますが，このくらいは文献の異なりによってよくあること，まず同一のことに違いありますまい。思いがけず常春公の名をここで見つけるとは，だから歴史は面白いですね。
