★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御祭神は武甕槌命。安政2（1855）年，水戸藩南郡奉行金子孫二郎教孝，この地・鷺沼の開拓の際，大宮明神（小美玉市上玉里）の御分霊を乞い，当地の鎮守として奉斎したのが始まりだそうです。
鹿島神社の他，すぐ近くに鳥居を持つ境内社の稲荷神社（倉稲魂命），金子神社の二社が鎮座していらっしゃいますが，金子神社の御祭神はこれで分かったというものです。金子神社の脇に「鷺沼開拓記念碑」があってその時は（長い聖地巡礼の帰りで疲れていて）碑文を読まなかったのですが，茨城県神社誌を見て，はっと繋がった次第です。
なお，調べてみると金子神社御祭神・金子孫二郎公は，桜田門外の変に直接ではないが加わったことで斬罪に処せられ，明治維新後に正四位を贈位されたそうです。
The god of ritual is Takemikazuchi. In Ansei 2 (1855), Noritaka Kaneko, a magistrate of the Mito Domain, asked for the spirit of Omiya Myojin (Kamitamari, Omitama City) when cultivating this land, Saginuma, and served as a guardian of the area. It seems to be the beginning.
In addition to Kashima Shrine, there are two shrines, Inari Shrine (Kuraina Tamashii) and Kaneko Shrine, which have a torii gate nearby. There was a "Saginuma Pioneer Memorial" beside Kaneko Shrine, and I didn't read the inscription at that time (I was tired from the long pilgrimage to the sacred place), but I saw the Ibaraki Prefecture Shrine magazine and it was connected.
According to a survey, Kaneko Shrine's deity, Sonjiro Kaneko, was accused of being slaughtered for joining Sakuradamon Incident, although not directly, and was awarded the Fourth Rank after the Meiji Restoration.
