I have never been inside, but I often go on a walk course. It's a very nice place where the building and trees are like paintings.

An art museum that displays the works of Japanese-style painters Hirafuku Hyakusui and Hyakusui from Kakunodate. Although the permanent exhibition is small, you can appreciate the wonderful works of both artists. In addition, it seems that a special exhibition dealing with art related to the area is being held. The appearance of the building is also good.

It is located at the entrance to the samurai residence street. It is crowded in the season of cherry blossoms and colored leaves, and the parking lot is charged. I will usually go out of that crowded time. Because the city is beautiful, I like it whenever I go. Among them, I like the beauty of this art museum.

Very interesting architectural style to the building. A must see. Exhibits were mostly paintings done by local artists from various periods.

I am usually not a fan of museums; I almost passed by it but decided to walk inside because it was cold outside. The 300 yen (about $3) was a nominal entrance fee to warm up inside. As I started to walk around I noticed the visual paintings on display from various artists of 1800s and 1900s era. It was a very pleasant way of learning about the history and culture of Japan. My favorite painting was the one titled "Akita's old city" from 1899.
