Genjo Sanzoin Garan - Nara

Xuanzang, who became the model of Sanzou Houshi of the Monkey Monkey, is enshrined. I couldn't see the inside because it was closed on the day, so I got 4 stars. A building that seems to be a fusion of Chinese and Japanese culture is worth a visit.

It is a temple newly built in 1991 to praise the virtues of Xuanzang, who is the ancestor of the Hosso sect and the ancestor of Jien Daishi, and is revered as the founder of the Hosso sect. Surrounded by a corridor, there is the Xuanzang Tower, where the parietal bones and statues of Xuanzang are enshrined, and the Mural Painting Hall in the western region of Da Tang, where the mural paintings by Ikuo Hirayama are enshrined. This is open to the public four times a year for a limited time. The entrance is on the left side.

At Genjo Sanzoin Garan, there is a wall painting hall in the western part of Dakar, where the masterpieces of painter Ikuo Hirayama are exhibited. On the ceiling is the sky, the sun and the moon drawn in lapis lazuli. Impressed by the size of the scale! Worth a look.
