★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very much worth the walk to see the phoenix painted by Hokusai. No photography allowed and the explanation by the priest is only in Japanese, so you'll get the most out of it if you can understand or with someone who can. Went on a Monday morning in February and we were the only people there. There is parking for tour buses, so recommended to go early in the morning or weekdays for the best experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing visit, it’s a really small temple but really worth it for the Hokusai painting.
He painted it at 90 years old just before he passed away. The colors of the Phoenix are beautiful and untouched since the original painting.
Worth to mention that everything is explained in English m.
No pictures allowed.
