It is quietly in the middle of Amanohashidate. When the rental cycle is from the Chionji side Easy to move to the shrine. There is a little distance on foot. From the other side, you can walk for about 20 minutes, but there is only one free parking lot. I have a signboard.

When I heard that he was the Eight Dragon Kings, I would love to visit the palace in Amanohashidate. It's about 1.5km from the station, but if you think you're walking in one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, you'll arrive immediately. There were worshipers even in the evening, and it was a popular palace.

It was introduced in the NHK program "Bura Tamori", but until the middle of the Edo period, Amanohashidate was only halfway through, and there was no sandbar in Shotenkyo today. Therefore, Bunshu visited this shrine by boat. As a remnant of that, the approach is heading southwest, and a torii stands toward the Aso Sea. In other words, here is the official approach.

Shrine to the dragon gods. Amanohashidate Shrine is quite small, as many reviewers have pointed out. Nearby there is a pavilion which provides a nice place to rest in the shade if visiting during summer (which I was). The real appeal of this shrine is the purifying font to the left of the shine (closer to the water). While the bays on either side of the shrine are salt water, the font is "miraculously" fresh water, coming up from deep within the earth. There are many legends about Amanohashidate and dragon gods (one even explaining how the land bridge itself is a long green dragon flying across the sky), and in Japanese culture, dragons are often associated with water, which may explain this shrines connection to both water and dragons. There is a sign that says its best not to drink from the fresh water fountain, but I don't see any harm in touching the water to your lips to see for yourself its lack of saltiness.
