下蚊屋、御机、大河原など、江府町内各地への町営バスも発着しています。本数は多くないですが、御机の茅葺小屋など、奥大山の絶景スポットの一部に公共交通機関で行くことも可能です。

今では普通列車だけしか停車しないが、やくも登場以前急行が主役の頃はここにも停車していた。元々は宿駅で城跡もあり、それらの名残か旅館も近隣あり、銀行や郵便局もある。伯備線は「祭り」に併せて臨時列車がよく運転され「江尾一七夜」開催の時にも運転された実績がある。
