A pretty delicious Gyukatsu, it was nice crispy on the outside and the meat inside very tender. You can put wasabi or mustard on it for the spiciness and then dip it into the soy sauce or the other one unfortunately I can't remember what is was... The meatball was also crunchy and juicy. You can choose between 3 different sauce for your rice first was curry, then demiglace and a radish lemon sauce. Plus you can refill rice, miso soup and salad for free.

Pretty decent Gyukatsu in Kyoto style. The place is at the basement and it was a bit stuffy. The food is good and the tare-katsudon seems like a bargain (we couldn’t have it since it’s only for lunch on weekdays).

8 minute walk from Shibuya Station but is very easy to spot as it is located at the intersection with a humongous signboard you can never miss. Store is located in the basement but is small and cosy. Interior of the store is simple and well-lit. Love the logo of the store. Service was good, waiters were friendly and food was served as soon as we sat down and ordered. The set comes with fried wagyu beef, 5 types of condiments, and unlimited refills of rice, miso soup and cabbage. The condiments include 2 types of soy sauce, Japanese pepper, curry and wasabi. My favourite combination is fried wagyu beef dipped in soy sauce and some wasabi. The meat is tender on the inside, the skin crispy on the outside and is the best fried beef I have ever tried! After finishing, I refilled my bowl of rice and order a bowl of half-boiled egg with say sauce. I heard Japanese people eat half-boiled egg mixed in rice known as Tamago-kake-gohan so I decided to order a bowl myself. I added some Shichimi 七味 in the dish and I have a new found love for egg and rice. Recommending to order the set that includes half-boiled egg. The price was considered affordable for a proper dinner for tourists on a budget travelling in Japan. Highly recommending this store and will bring my family and friends along when they travel to Japan.

Didn't know what to expect initially but walked out of the restaurant very surprised and satisfied. Went in early and so had to wait for thirty minutes before being served but that was alright. Ordered the Sauce Cutlet Rice and was impressed but the first bite was really tough. After that though, the meat was seasoned just right and I finished my dinner bite after bite! I certainly would go back again!

My second time in this franchise. The beef Katsu Is good for its price. The cost performance is acceptable. The portion was just nice for me. cabbage, rice and miso soup is refillable so it’s a good place for a hungry tourist under budget or student. I think my order was 100g ? And it comes with 3dipping sauce so you can enjoy different kind of flavor I personally liked the sansyo山椒 powder. Miso soup was based on red miso . I usually have awase miso at home so it was slightly stronger taste for me. Menus were also written in English if I’m not mistaken but the good part is that they have images so it’s easy to choose if you can’t read Japanese . They even have instruction on how to eat the katsu. Businessman and students can be seen here in Shibuya branch at night . Shop ambiance was acceptable. But the washroom was not cleaned when I went in .Chinese staff is working here as well so you could probably order in Chinese. Servings is also speedy where their motto was .... erm... if I’m not mistaken it was deep fry within 60seconds which also implement that the meat is quite rare. So if your prefer well done meat over rare then this might not be your choice .

I came upon this restaurant by chance as I was strolling around Shibuya. I got attracted by its big, flashy, well-lit front. There was a television in the window and I was curious to see what was showing. As I came near the window I saw the huge display of the restaurant's menu. To my surprise it was written in English, which I think is still rare in Tokyo and useful for foreign tourists. As I speak Japanese, I don't care much, so that is the gyukatsu (fried beef) that got my attention. I had always wanted to try gyukatsu before and never had the chance so I decided to go for it this time as the video made me salivating. The restaurant is in the basement of the building. It is not wheelchair accessible and the stairs to go down are quite steep. As I got in, I got warmly welcomed by the staff and shown my seat. There is a dinning counter as well as a dozen of tables. The place is super well-lit and the decoration although minimal is nice with the wood counter and chairs and tables. It is not a fine dining restaurant as it feels more like something between a fast food restaurant and a regular restaurant, but it is comfortable to spend an hour or so on your own or with friends. The way the tables are set could allow for a big group to eat in. The staff is friendly and most seemed to be able to speak some English as I heard from a couple of tables away from mine. Everything is written in English as well : the menu and instructions on how to eat the fried beef, which can seem unnecessary until you receive your plate and are not used to this type of Japanese set meal. I thought it was a nice thoughtful touch to have. As for the most important part, the food, I would say that it was pretty good. I was not blown away, but I found that for the price around 1600 yens (14.50 USD) the serving was generous and the meat tasty enough to satisfy me. I enjoyed the set meal style in which I got rice, some spinach, a delicious miso soup, cabbage and the fried beef. The beef was well-cooked and the fried part not too greasy. It also came with complimentary cold tea. Overall I would say I had a good experience at this restaurant. I wouldn't linger around for long, but if I'm ever craving gyukatsu again, I will definitively come back here.

Went to this restaurant last week with a couple of friends. The ambience of this establishment was cozy yet it comfortable. Perfect for catch-ups or a quick bite. We ordered the gyu-katsu set (deep-fried beef) which came less than 20mins to our table. Themeat was juicy & tender with a bit of pink albeit a bit chewy! Cabbage, miso soup, rice -- the usual suspects, are all refillable! Especially love the yuzu dressing provided for the salad as well as the dipping sauce for the meat. The portion was also generous & I almost could not finish it! The restaurant is an 8-min walk from Shibuya Station (look for Shibuya 109 exit). The location of the restaurant is easy to find as it's at the corner of a crossroad with a huge white signboard. Definitely a must-try!

I ate here for the first time this week. The location of the restaurant is good and the staff are friendly but the service is very slow when it starts to get busy. We arrived around 7.15 and didn't get served until around 7.45, if the restaurant notified us then it would have a little bit better. They have an English menu avaliable but the staff don't speak English. The beef cutlet was ok, but not worth the wait. The display of food looked nice and came with instructions of how to eat it. I rated it 3 due to slow service and reasonable food.
