江戸時代、つまり神仏習合の時代には第六天魔王波旬を祀っていたと思われ、それ故に阿弥陀寺内に鎮座していたのでしょう。仏教に帰依した魔王尊は、敢えて人間に試練を与え、その者がこの試練を乗り越えた時に初めて利益を下されるとの教えがあります。 現在は説明看板にあるとおり神代六代の夫婦神面足尊(オモダルノミコト)・惶根尊(カシコネノミコト)が奉祀されており、生産豊穣・境界防塞(外敵から地域を守る)などにご利益があるとのことです。 白山社や日枝社と同じ形状の社殿で、内部は薄暗くなっていました。
