は	はるのゆいたろう on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 福島神社は名称の通りに福島集落の氏神です。本来は丘下の集落から登っていく神域だったと思われますが、今は脇にも住宅が密集し西側から直接入る方がメイン入口になっているようです。(なので西側にもきちんと鳥居が有りました‼️) 鎮座している狛犬がとても精密ですし、社殿の彫刻も中々の精巧な造りで、神社の長い歴史を感じます。昭島市の無形文化財に指定されている「福島囃子」が継承されていて祭礼時に披露されるとの事です。ガラス張りの倉庫には立派な神輿が保存されていました。 Fukushima Shrine, as the name implies, is the deity of the Fukushima village. Originally it seems to have been a sanctuary that climbed from a hillside settlement, but now houses are densely located aside and it seems that those who enter directly from the west are the main entrances. (So there was a torii on the west side as well.) The enshrined komainu is very precise, and the shrine sculptures are medium and elaborate, giving a long history of the shrine. A fine portable shrine was preserved in the glass-walled warehouse.
石	石井勇次 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 福島神社の周りは河岸段丘で緑が多く、子供の頃はよく虫取りに行きました。神社から東側に下りる坂道は「オオカミ坂」と呼ばれていたそうで、その昔は狼が出たそうです。神社の裏手は谷になっており、かつては野水堀という川が流れていました。野水堀が武蔵野台地から谷間に落ちる所には、大きな二段の滝があり、大釜・小釜という深い淵があったそうです。川の水はとてもきれいで、沢蟹がいたり鮎や鰻などが時季になると溯上してきたそうです。子供達が泳いだり、大人が農作業の後に汗や泥を流したり、生活に密着した川だったそうです。 The area around Fukushima Shrine is a river terrace with lots of greenery, and when I was a child I often went to catch insects.
