(ひがしかつしかぐん うらやすまち)
道路元標の周囲を笹竹が生い茂っているので、折角浦安町役場跡の説明板が隣に建っているにもかかわらず全く目立たない。見に行くならば冬場のほうがいいかもしれない。
地下鉄東西線浦安駅から徒歩6分。
明治22(1889)年の町村制施行によりいずれも天領の堀江、猫実、当代島の3箇村が合併して浦安村が成立。
明治42(1909)年9月、町制施行。
昭和56(1981)年4月、市制施行。
このとき印旛郡四街道町も同時に市制施行。
東京ディズニーランド開業は浦安市誕生の2年後である。
明治22年の大合併で成立した自治体がその後合併や編入などを経ないで、その当時のまま市制施行に至った珍しい事例のひとつである。

A 6-minute walk from Urayasu Station on the Tozai Subway Line.
With the enforcement of the town and village system in 1889, the three villages of Horie, Nekozane, and Todaijima in the Tenryo merged to form Urayasu Village.
The town system came into effect in September 1909.
The city system came into effect in April 1981.
At this time, Yotsukaido Town, Imba District also enforced the city system at the same time.
Tokyo Disneyland opened two years after the birth of Urayasu City.
This is one of the rare cases in which the local government, which was established by the Great Merger in 1902, did not undergo mergers or transfers after that, and the city system came into effect as it was at that time.
