昭和三十二年（1957）波郷は、読売新聞社の依頼で読売江東版に俳句・エッセイ・写真でつづる「江東歳時記」の連載を開始する。昭和二十一年の転居当時見渡す限りの焼け野原であった砂町も、波郷の入院療養中に目覚ましい復興をとげていた。
波郷自身もカメラを持ち、江東、隅田、葛飾、江戸川、足立にまたがる江東地域の人々の生活と季節の風物を取材し、俳人の視点から描き出した「江東歳時記」の連載は百十五回を重ねて終了した。
 A monument was erected and it was written as follows.
In 1957, Namigo started a series of "Kotoshikiki" spelled with haiku, essays, and photographs in the Yomiuri Koto version at the request of the Yomiuri Shimbun. Sunamachi, which used to be a burnt field as far as the eye could see at the time of its relocation in 1922, was also undergoing a remarkable recovery during hospitalization treatment at Nango.
Hago himself also has a camera, covering the life and seasonal features of the people of the Koto region spanning Koto, Sumida, Katsushika, Edogawa, and Adachi. It was over again.
