★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 洲崎遊郭は、明治初期に根津遊郭が当地に移転させられてきたものだが、吉原の向こうを張るほど繁盛した（ほかの口コミで、あまり目立たなかったと書いている人がいるが、そんなことはない）。
ここで働く女性たちは、もちろんお金で縛られているわけだし、衛生状態も栄養状態もいまほどは良くないし、年期が明ける前に、健康を害して命を落とすこともままある。そうした死者たちを弔うために建てられた石碑である。
男たちの欲望を受け止めて死んでいった多くの女たち。ほんの半世紀ちょっと前までそういう世界があったことを、時には思い出してほしい。
The Suzaki Yukaku was relocated to Nezu Yukaku in the early Meiji era, but it was so prosperous that it stretched beyond Yoshihara. ).
The women who work here are of course tied to money, hygiene and nutrition are not as good as they are now, and they often lose their health and die before the end of their life. It is a stone monument built to mourn those dead.

吉原が、遊郭の表舞台でしたが、洲崎は目立たない遊郭として、有名だったようです。
There used to be Susaki Yukaku around here. It is a memorial monument for the people involved here.
Yoshiwara was the front stage of the Yukaku, but Susaki seems to have been famous as an inconspicuous Yukaku.
