★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 奈良三名椿のひとつで名前の通り、紅、白、紅に白が斑に混ざった絞りなどさまざまな色の大輪、八重の花が咲く。もとは興福寺塔頭の喜多院にあったものを寛永年間に移したものと言われている。高さ約5m、根元から0.8mのところで分岐している。そばにもう一本、大椿『白毫寺』という推定樹齢五百年の藪椿がある。こちらも紅に点々と白が斑に入る。
21/03/12、奈良三名椿を見て回ることにして、伝香寺から歩いてやってきた。こちらもいいタイミングだった。
As the name suggests, it is one of the three camellias in Nara, and large flowers and double flowers of various colors such as red, white, and squeezed with white mixed with red spots bloom. It is said that what was originally in Kitain at the top of Kofukuji Temple was moved to the Kanei era. It branches at a height of about 5m and 0.8m from the root. There is another camellia, "Byakugo-ji", which is estimated to be 500 years old. Here too, white spots appear on the crimson.
On 21/03/12, I decided to look around the three camellias in Nara and walked from Denkoji Temple. This was also a good time.

境内には天根記念物の大きな木と、
恐らく株分けされた小さな木がありました。
