It is a calm case where it is hard to believe that there was a battle in which the full-scale samurai government collapsed about 700 years ago.

The place where Yoshisada Nitta was once lost to the Hojo army. It is a quiet green road along the Nitta River. Great for a walk.

The Battle of Bubaigawara was held in the 3rd year of Genko (1333) during the Kamakura period between the Kamakura Shogunate, led by Hojo Yasuie, and the anti-Bakufu, led by Nitta Yoshisada, on the banks of the Tamagawa River in Musashi. It is said that the battle that was held was won by the Nitta group who set up a surprise attack.

It is an old battlefield where the Yoshisada Nitta Army that goes southward of the Kamakura Route broke the Hojo army of the Kamakura shogunate. The Kamakura Shogunate would have regarded the Tamagawa River as the first line of defense against the enemies coming from the north.

It was a famous battle at the end of the Kamakura period, but it was quiet.

There is nothing but a stone monument. Well, the field battlefield is like this in the Sengoku period and the end of the Edo period, let alone Kamakura, so it can't be helped. To put it the other way around, it is an important stone monument to convey to posterity that Bubaigawara was once a battlefield.
