A specialist of yakitori, chicken skewers grilled over binchotan. Next door neighbor of sushi master Jiro in Ginza, these folks have earned a michelin star of their own. At this level of yakitori, they take pride in their chickens. The American Rhode Island Red was introduced locally in the Meiji period, and was later crossbred by a dedicated chicken research institute with the Nagano Cochin to produce the oku-kuji breed that is lean, low fat, and with a more elasticky, supple texture. Bird Land specializes in this bird, raised free range in Ibaraki. The simpler of the set course menus has 8 skewers and some peripheral bites, including liver, breast with wasabi (mune), tsukune (meatballs), shiitake, terikyakied thigh, negima (thigh and long onions), ginko nuts, and finishing with oyakodon (chicken and egg dish). It misses the rowdy atmosphere of your average neighbourhood yakitori joint but the execution of everything just right.

*MUST TRY* Best yakitori I have ever had. Must try item is the chicken thigh with skin. Its like eating grapes, very juicy and tender yet doesn't dry out as you chew. Sold out very fast so must order early.

Take the first flight of stairs to the metro station and make a left through a glass door. The food here is wonderful. High quality chicken prepared on a skewer. They offer various parts of the chicken. Veggies are served in-between. Service is also fantastic. Highly recommended.

Great Yakitori restaurant. If you want to know the sophisticated one, I recommend you to try. You can feel the flavor and taste of ingredients itself. A well balanced casual service, not formal, is served. It ’s a little expensive, but it ’s worth it.

This is, bar none, the best chicken I've ever had. The chicken thigh with skin was expertly prepared with the meat perfectly cooked and juicy, with the skin's fat rendered to a crisp. Because most of the meat is cooked simply with just salt and pepper, the quality of the free range chicken shines through. The service is also on point -- no fuss, but very attentive with prompt clearing of plates and tea refills. However, don't expect foreigner-patronizing service found in other tourist trappy restaurants in the area. I ended up ordering the chicken thighs three times in the same meal -- once to try, second time because it was just amazing, and one last time after dessert because I just couldn't resist.

We were seated where we can watch the masters grill the yakitori skewers over the charcoal. Each piece was grilled to perfection with the perfect amount of salt and charcoal flavor. You can definitely taste the difference in the quality of the meat here compared to some other yakitori places. Price points are definitely higher though. The tofu dish, chicken skin w ponzu and pate were delicious. Service was really good and very attentive. Place is a bit difficult to find, we took a bit of time trying to find which building to head towards the basement.

Really great value for the quality of the meal! Find the restaurant at Ginza Station, exit A6. I highly recommend the omakase option. It’s a tremendous amount of food, and you get a good variety of everything on the menu.

Wonderful Yakitori-ya in the subway station in Ginza. The omakase was absolutely delicious and incredibly varied ranging from different cuts of chicken on a skewers, to paté, vegetables, grilled cheese and a oyakudon followed by crème caramel to top it off. All in all an incredible experience, would recommend 100%.
