Food was great! The service on the other hand was bizarre. Our server, an older lady, became annoyed when we asked for water along with our tea, and then refused to serve our table for the rest of our visit, passing us off to another employee. As someone who lives in Tokyo and speaks basic Japanese, this was very strange, especially in an area like Asakusa with lots of tourists.

‎¥‎1500+ for lunch, good service and atmosphere, good flavor. It's a fairly small shop, so there might be a line-up depending on when you come. The interior is very cozy, which has that homey feel. There is an English menu, but it helps to learn some Japanese. Eel is more expensive than your everyday chicken/pork/beef/fish, so expect to pay at least ‎¥‎1500 for lunch, and more for dinner. Food is freshly grilled and cooked, so it does take some time for your meal to arrive. Would I go again? Sure. Should you go? Yes, it's a reliable restaurant.

Not a big fan of unagi but decided to give this a try based on the high review score. There was an instruction guide (English) on how to eat the Tare or salted unagi (on different pages). I took the Salted version since it's unique. The outside of the eel was crispy and inside was extremely tender. The sansho salt really helps to bring out the natural flavour of the eel. Wasabi was recommended to go with the unagi as second way, and the 3rd way was to finish everything with the dashi stock, citrus and Japanese herb. Truly outstanding in taste. Slightly on the expensive side given the small serving size, but you can be sure that you are paying for good quality of food.

For me, awesome. Their signature menu was took longer than other menu but worth to wait. Especially I like the way to eat after pour some soup/water. Thumbs up!

My favourite unagi place. Sake recommended by staff went really well with the food. If you happen to be there, remember to order crispy unagi bones , promise you won’t regret.

In Japan, restaurants with jazz music is always proved to be right. Another cool jazz background music restaurant and I loved it. Unagi itself was quite average, but the special source with Shiso (Japanese herb) was great and fun to enjoy three different styles of Unagi in neat place with kind service.

Ordered the Hitsu-Mabushi Shio Hitori-oke, there are 3 ways of enjoying it, first with sansho (Japanese peppercorn), second with freshly grind wasabi, third with Dashi. Liked with sansho and wadabi the most. However, the portion is really small, but the shio grilled eel is perfectly grilled seasoned with right amout of salt. They also offer the tare (seasoned with specially made sauce) eel which is more commonly seen outside of Japan. Their toriyaki is quite good as well.
