★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great purpose-built museum, very well done. Only reopened January 19, 2020. Nice display of the materials and philosophy of the building. Six floors with escalators; top three are the galleries. Current exhibit is highlights of their collection. Mostly impressionist/modern art, but a few ancient statues, Greek vases, and Rembrandts. Each room has a theme.
Bring your own smartphone and headphones to use the wifi audioguide included in admission. Photography is allowed. Great alternative to the Western Art Museum in Ueno, which is closed for remodelling except during the Olympic summer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful beautiful ? museum originally founded as Bridgestone Museum. Easy access from either Nihombashi station or Tokyo station (Yaesu side). The cafe-restaurant is highly recommended too but could be just a small meal for men.
