As a Japanese-speaking bloke who visits Tokyo from London frequently, I just wanted to check, and this is what they told me when I asked if they are ready for overseas visitors. They have an English speaking chap on the staff nowadays (whom I saw, but didn't have a chance to speak to).
I've been coming here once in a while, as a fan of Okinawa cuisine, and I feel this place has everything; a genuine connection with Okinawa, with ingredients shipped in regularly, staff who also hail from that beautiful part of the world, and well-made food and a huge Awamori selection (the Okinawan counterpart to Shochu in the rest of Japan).
Only a few steps from Mita/Tamachi stations, this is in the student-bar area surrounding Keio University, one of the local equivalent of the Ivy League.
Remember that starchy things are saved for the end of a mean in a Japanese izakaya, so the amazing Okinawa noodles should be saved for the end of the evening. There are lots of mains to share, many of which are exotic relative to the rest of Japan, and also many "otsumami" (nibbles to accompany drinks) to keep you going all night.
